Sea Coast Battery

Sea Girt Battery from the ealry 1900's

Sea Coast Battery

These photos were taken by Robert Bossett after the 1938 hurricane that went up the east coast. The cannons were located at the shore end of the army camp. Prior to the storm, they were buried, but the storm uncovered them. The land for the army camp was "purchased" for $51,000 for the purpose of establishing a permanent camp, rifle range and "sea coast battery".

Thanks to Robert Bossert's son for allowing us to post them here.
